You must create a POS station before you can log into point of sale and start processing transactions. Follow the steps below to create a POS station.

Step 1: Create your tax codes

You need to set up your tax codes before you can create your POS stations. More

Step 2: Set up your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online

Set up your QuickBooks Cash On Hand Account, QuickBooks Over/Under Expense Account, and QuickBooks Banks Account in QuickBooks Online. You must associate these GL accounts with the POS station.

Step 3: Create a default customer

Every POS transaction in Evosus Pro is associated with a specific customer. But what if you don't want to create a customer record for every new customer that walks through your door?

You need to create a default customer, and then associate it with the POS station. By default, all transactions on that POS station will be associated with the default customer, but you can still select a different customer if needed.

You must have at least one customer record set up in QuickBooks Online before you can create a new customer in Evosus Pro. That means if you don't have any customers set up in QuickBooks Online, create your default customer in QuickBooks Online. It will automatically appear in Evosus Pro.

  1. Log into EvosusPro.com.
  2. Click .
  3. Select Add Customer.
  4. Enter the customer information.
  5. Click Submit.

Step 4: (optional) Create an EXEMPT customer

You can set up a customer in QuickBooks Online as tax exempt. That means when you process POS transactions for that customer in Evosus Pro, no sales tax will be applied to the transaction even if all of the items on the transaction are taxable.

For example, create a customer with a display name of "_Exempt", and then use that customer in POS for all customers that you don't want to track but are exempt from sales tax. Once this customer is created in QuickBooks Online, it will be available for use in Evosus Pro.

Step 5: Create POS station

  1. Log into Evosuspro.com.
  2.  Click .
  3. Select POS Stations.
  4. Click Add New Station.
  5. Enter the POS station information.
    • Default Customer - By default, this customer will be associated with every transaction on the POS station. To override the default customer, just select an existing customer or create a new one right in POS.
    • Document Type - Currently, the only option is POS. Future versions of the application will include additional document types.
    • Tax Code - Applied to every transaction processed on this POS station. More
    • Location - All transactions processed on this POS station will be tagged with this location in QuickBooks Online. Locations are an optional feature that you can enable in QuickBooks Online. These locations are created and maintained in QuickBooks Online and they allow you to tag transactions to a location for use in reporting. For example, if you have multiple stores, you can set up each store as a location in QuickBooks Online, and then tag all of the POS transactions at each store with their own location tag. When you run reports in QuickBooks Online, you can then filter and total reports by location.
    • Over/Under Expense Account  - GL account that is increased/decreased by the over/under amount when the POS station is closed. This account is also increased/decreased if you open a POS station with more or less cash that it was closed with the previous evening. When you close the cash drawer, you define how much cash is in the drawer at the end of the evening, and how much cash you are leaving in the drawer for the next business day. We recommend that you always open a cash register with the same amount of cash in the drawer. More
